5G omnipresence is yet rather distant, but networks are beginning to grow across the world. Next-generation tech promises ultra-fast mobile speed, and it is ready to expand areas such as cars with automatic control and virtual reality.
Research firm Gartner on Thursday showed that revenue from global 5G network infrastructure will be achieved $ 4.2 billion by 2020.
That would be an 89% enhancement in income from the firm’s forecast for 2019 in the amount of $ 2.2 billion.
The firm predicts total 4G income to fall from $ 19.32 billion in 2019 to $ 18.28 billion in 2020, with an equal decrease in revenue from 3G and 2G.
According to Gartner, 7% of providers have already deployed 5G network infrastructure, and predicts that the total investment of providers in 5G networks will double from 6% in 2019 to 12% in 2020.
By 2021, according to Gartner projects, income from 5G infrastructure will grow to $ 6.8 billion.
